API keys and rate limits

Create keys under Settings → Developer. The REST API covers documents, clients, rates and payments; keys are scoped read or read-write.

Limits are 120 requests a minute per key. If you need more, write us — the answer is usually yes.

Scope keys to the job they do: the dashboard that only reads gets a read key, and revoking one key never touches the others. Keys are shown once at creation — store them like passwords, and rotate by creating the new one before deleting the old so nothing goes dark in between.
